Links to Sèvres - City of Ceramics
The Sevres porcelain has been known since the eighteenth century through the services table, the famous "cookies" (unglazed porcelain statuettes) and today's contemporary creations.
Since April 2011, the City of ceramics opens its doors to people with Alzheimer's disease to enable them to express themselves about artistic achievement.
In the paint shop, sick people have expressed their feeling for art and desire to create. They made one or more works on a vase or a plate of Sèvres porcelain by applying, according to their imagination, the famous blue Sevres.
Other "therapeutic workshops" for Alzheimer's patients
For sick people together in center day care and psycho geriatric day hospital, the medical team composed of the Foundation including art therapists and occupational therapists also organizes workshops art therapy and music therapy.
Since March 2011, visits to the Louvre Museum are organized.
These workshops are designed to stimulate creative and imaginative faculties of patients and maintain their openness to the outside. In their relationship with their surroundings, these therapies offer a real nonmédicamenteuses wellness to the patient, allow for better communication with
families and help to allay the anxieties and depressive feelings in some patients.
